Hard rock maple is one of the hardest woods used in furniture. Hard Maple has a hardness of 1450 which is 6% harder the Quarter – Sawn White Oak. The hardest wood in North America that is used in furniture building is Hickory. Almost all items in this category can be made in Hickory as well.
