Rustic furniture is characteristic of rural or country communities and is usually made from wood or natural materials.  This furniture is generally thought to display an aura of hand-craftsmanship, as is customary in the country.  It is also considered durable and well build, using blocks of wood vs thin cuts of material.  Some classic furniture pieces include hope chests, bookcases, hutches, armories, tables and beds. Coat racks, umbrella stands, chopping blocks and other wooden items are also included.

Architectural Furnishings in many areas of a building can contain pieces of rustic furniture such as porch swings, fireplaces, chandeliers, bookcases, window boxes, bars or cabinetry.  This style of a furniture has a country genre more on rural themes of agriculture, wildflowers and farm or woodland animals. Designs and patterns tend to be simpler and colors tend to be earth tones.  Leather can be made in every style and design of furniture.  Working leather sofa’s or chairs and accents will have a big impact on your rustic style design.  This kind of style can work in wide open rooms as well as close quarters.  Large windows or no windows, either way rustic can be a big hit in you home design.
